Lunch note for Tuesday:  the cafeteria will serve sack lunches only.

We have an extremely short week!  We still have learning planned, though!  At the end of this edition of Schoolnotes you will find the curriculum we will cover.

Many of you know that I had the opportunity to go on the McKamy 7th grade field trip to Austin on the 21st.  First of all, I figured out I love my 4th graders much more than I did before I left!  Second of all, if you have not been to the Bob Bullock Museum in Austin, you should consider taking your 4th grader!  The museum is like our textbook come to life.  I am planning to take Hampton in the spring after we have covered more of the curriculum.  The 15 minute movie they show is a must see.  A couple of parents from our classroom were on the field trip as well and they told me they were thinking about their 4th graders while they were there, too!  You can check out the museum at www.thestoryoftexas.com

Exciting news!  Our classroom is one of only a couple that will participate in a video-conference on Tuesday, November 25.  We will be conferencing with another classroom somewhere in the state of Texas.  We have an incredible project that we will be creating together via video-conference!  This is super exciting for your students!

One last note:  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. We have the opportunity to give thanks for all of our many blessings.  I truly mean it when I tell you that one thing I am giving thanks for this year is my class of 4th graders.  I hope you enjoy your holiday and time with your family....no matter how big or small your celebration is.

Our curriculum this week:
Reading: We will be completing some Time For Kids activities centered around the President-elect Obama issue of TFK.  There will not be a quiz.

Math:  We will continue with fractions when we return from our break.  This week we will spend some more time on word problems...Thanksgiving style.

Writing: We will be preparing for our video-conference with our writing skills.

Social Studies: Wrapping up our Native American unit.

Science:  See Mrs. Alday's schoolnotes

Spelling:  None this week!

Thank you,
Amy Hall
