Book orders are due this Wednesday! If your child would like to participate, please make sure to fill out the order form and send in a check!
Third grade is starting our Holidays Around the World unit in social studies. The kids love this unit as there are many hands-on crafts and yummy treats to enjoy. We are asking that each child send in $3.00 to cover supplies and food. If you need to write a check, please write it out to me personally, as I will be the one purchasing all the items.
December 5th: PTA is hosting shopping and a movie at Wellington. The fun begins at 4:30. It is the season to shop! :)
If you have not returned your child's report card envelope, please do asap.
Wellington's Angel Tree is here and located in the office. The tree benefits children in LISD. If you are interested, stop by the office. Gifts are due back December 16th.
This week:
Math: Multiplication! We will focus on 5, 3, and 4's this week. You will see a math log in your child’s homework packet. We are asking that each child spend at least 5 minutes each night reviewing addition, subtraction or/and multiplication each night.
Social Studies: Holidays Around the World. This week we will focus on customs celebrated in the United States. If time, we will travel to Mexico to learn about the holidays and customs celebrated in Mexico.
Science: Sound. This week we will be doing some fun experiments with sound. We will learn about what makes sound and how sound travels. We will be focusing on pitch, vibration, and volume.
Language: All About Me writing related to November.
Reading: This week we are not going to be reading from our normal text book. We are reading Horrible Harry and the Holidaze. This short novel correlates well with our Holidays Around the World Unit. We will be doing short comprehension checks throughout the story along with learning new vocabulary words. We will have a comprehension quiz over the entire story at the end.
