Dear Parents,

Can you believe we just finished our 50th day of school???

PLEASE have your child bring a coat or jacket to school each day!  We go out for "fitness break" at 9:10, and it is cold.  Our recess is at 11:00.  Both of these times are early enough for it to still be very cold.  Please send your child to school prepared for the weather.  THANKS!! DON'T FORGET TO LABEL IT!!!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE keep your child home if they are sick!!!  A stomach bug in going around Kindergarten and if you send your child to school with having thrown up the night before or the morning of, they are likely to spread more germs.....and I don't want to get sick!  School children must be fever or throw up free for 24 hours before returning to school.  Thanks for helping us with this matter!

A big thank you to all of the parent chaperone's for the field trip.  We had a great time!  You all are awesome.

Tiny Tidbits...

Also yearbooks are for sale too!

  Homework:  The homework packet will come home at the beginning of each month.  There are directions in the front of the packet.  There is short activity for you to do with your child each night.  This will not take a lot of time, but it will make a huge difference in your child's progress.  I do not need this back unless you want to do the reading log.  I will send one home on Wed.

Also every Monday your child will take home a blue plastic envelope.  This is their shopping bag.  There will be a little book with an activity as well as a Nursery Rhyme with an activity.  The books will get harder as we go along.  Just make sure to read the little book every night and return the book in the blue envelope on Thursdays.  It is very important that these are returned by Thursday!

Snack:  Please remember to send a SMALL snack each day.  We eat lunch so early that the kiddos are hungry in the afternoons.    Thanks for your help with this!

BoxTops:  Don't forget to clip the "boxtops" from the various products you buy.  By doing so, you are helping to raise money for our school :-)

  Shoe Expert Award :   When your child learns to tie their shoelaces all by themselves, they become a "Shoe Expert" in our classroom.  Please practice and encourage your child to keep practicing learning to tie their shoes.

********SUPER KID-----Our Super Kid this week is Jillian (Nov. 3-7), Noah will be  the week of Nov. 10-14 and Phoenix will be the week before Thanksgiving (Nov.17-21).

Please have your child practice on the following skills:

• Writing his/her first name the "Kindergarten" way.  The "Kindergarten" way is writing their name with the first letter capital and the rest of the letters are lowercase. 
• Using the correct pencil grip. 
• Practice producing the letter sounds.
• Practice souding out words.
• Practice recognizing the color words.
• Practice rhyming words.
• Producing neat work.
