LANGUAGE ARTS: This week we are reading Horrible Harry and the Holidaze, a chapter book we will be reading in class. This book is a great introduction to our Holidays Around the World unit and discusses several winter holidays celebrated by various cultures. We will focus on "Summarizing" as our TAKS skill.
SPELLING: Unit 14- Spelling lists are sent home in daily folders on Mondays. Students should also have their spelling words written in their planner each week. Spelling quizzes are given on Fridays.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We are beginning our Holidays Around the World unit! This unit is a lot of fun for the kiddos and we get to enjoy learning about holiday celebrations and customs from a variety of countries and cultures. This week, we are focusing on holiday traditions.
** There is a note coming home asking for $3 from each student to be used for purchasing cultural foods for students to sample in class as we study various holiday celebrations. I really appreciate your help with this:)
SCIENCE: We will continue our unit on Light. This week we will review vocabulary terms and learn about reflection.
MATH: We are continuing our unit on Multiplication. We will discuss arrays and the difference between rows and columns, as well as continue learning our facts. We will focus this week on 5s, 10s, and 11s.

-HW packets are sent home on Mon. and are due Fri. It is third grade policy that students complete all HW and turn it in on Friday morning. Students who have not completed all sections of the HW will be completing it during their recess time.
