Piper's Pages
This year's Turkey Drive will run the week of November 17 - 21. Last year we collected 75 turkeys and 10 grocery carts of all the trimmings. I know it's a difficult economy right now but I'd really like to at least match what we did last year.
For those of you new to Wellington, Turkey Drive benefits Christian Community Action (CCA). Each holiday season CCA provides roughly 1700 Holiday Meal Boxes to families in need. Each box contains a frozen turkey as well as all the trimmings (stuffing mix, canned vegetables, pie ingredients etc).
PLEASE have your child bring a coat or jacket to school each day! We go out for "fitness break" at 9:10, and it is cold. Our recess is at 11:00. Both of these times are early enough for it to still be very cold. Please send your child to school prepared for the weather. THANKS!! DON'T FORGET TO LABEL IT!!!

Unit (Social Studies): Last week we learned lots of new things about Native Americans and Pilgrims. The children really enjoyed learning and comparing our lives to the Pilgrims and Native Americans. This week we will continue learning about the First Thanksgiving and we will do some fun turkey activities.
