August 2008
Hello Parents & Students,
Let me welcome you and your child to my class. As your child's teacher, I look forward to working with you throughout this school year. Together we can make this a great year. In order to carry out the programs of the district and school, it is important that we have good classroom discipline. Therefore, I am using this method to inform my students and their parents of the rules and consequences we will use for the remainder of the school year. School Notes will also be used for daily objectives and most homework assignments.
The rules and consequences can be found below.
General Rules
1. Be prompt
2. Be prepared
3. Be positve
4. Be polite
5. Be productive
Specific Rules
6. Respect others--keep hands, feet, and other objects to yourself; respect school and personal property; use self-control (count to 10 if you get angry); work quietly; do not disturb others
7. Raise your hand for permission to speak
8. Listen
9. Do not be afraid to ask questions.
10.Use time wisely
11.Do your best
Parents and the office will be notified when the teacher feels it is necessary to do so in order to maintain positive classroom discipline.
I hope that you will take a few minutes from your busy schedule to discuss the need for good discipline with your child. Learning can only be accomplished appropriately in a well-disciplined classroom. During the first week or so of school, please look for a detailed letter that is to be signed and returned. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ms. Lee
