Mole RE-TEST sign up begins April 21st.  You must come in for tutorials to take the re-test.  Times available to take test is in the re-test sign up book.



CHECK OUT THE FLASHCARDS... THEY ARE OVER THE POLYATOMIC IONS!

Memorize the names AND symbols.  You will need to know all of these for remaining part of the year - yes, midterms and second nine weeks!  Yes, spelling counts.  These are all found in the first day packet you received in class.
I have the entire list in the flashcards.

It is a fresh start!  Stay on top of your homework and studying!

FOURTH WEEK of 2ND 9 weeks


This week we are covering the solutions:acid/base unit.  Our test on Stoichiometry (CH9) is going to be on Tuesday, May 6th.

M 4/28 - Turn in take home quiz on stoichiometry; finish notes: percent yield, limiting/excess reagents. HW: - Take home quiz #2 due next class time; finish up Stoichiometry labs.

T 4/29 - 1st & 2nd periods meet: turn in second take home quiz; review Stoichiometry, begin solutions:acids/bases unit. HW: Take progress reports home to get signed; two worksheets over stoichiometry to help prepare for test.

W 4/30 - 3rd period meets: turn in second take home quiz; review Stoichiometry, begin solutions:acids/bases unit. HW: Take progress reports home to get signed; two worksheets over stoichiometry to help prepare for test.

R 5/1 - 1st & 2nd periods meet: Solution unit notes: molarity calculations; colloids, suspensions, solutions comparison; Molarity Lab. HW: Complete Lab due Monday; study notes.

F 5/2 - 3rd period meets: Solution unit notes: molarity calculations; colloids, suspensions, solutions comparison; Molarity Lab. HW: Complete Lab due Monday; study notes.

4/28 M:Stoichiometry take home quiz 1 due today.  Given out on Friday, 4/25 instead of oral quiz.

4/29 T:Stoichiometry take home quiz 2 due today.  Given out on Monday, 4/28 instead of oral quiz.
5/6 T:Stoichiometry Test - covers all of chapter 9.

Upcoming Laboratory days (L)


[lab reports (LR):GRADED-informal=daily/formal=major]
All labs have DATA section in PENCIL.
  All other portions of lab are written entirely in one ink (blue or black). Any other ink is unacceptable.

    Be sure to write ONLY on the FRONT SIDE of paper of lab book.

5/1 R & 5/2 F:Molarity Lab - Due date: 5/5 M Informal lab to be completed in lab notebooks.  Consists of title, purpose, data table, and calculations.  One day for lab.  TAKS testing causes the split days.

***NOTE: Many things could be due on the same day, so please do not procrastinate on your assignments.***
