Week of September 8-12
We will begin this week learning about My Five Senses. This will be a 2 week study that will integrate our Science, Math and Language Arts. Our letter focus is Mm. Your child will come home wiht a Poetry folder on Monday. Read the poems together, sign the cover page form and return it to school on Tuesday. Remember to return the Take Home Reader Monday in the Ziploc bag. Your child will bring a new reader home on Tuesday if the previous one has been returned. Practice reading the reader nightly along with the Sight words, Color words and Number words you received at Orientation. If you have misplaced your word lists, they are also listen on the attached "Flashcrds" link. Finally, we will be learning about Authority Figures in Social Studies.
Have you walked through the Kindergarten hallway during the last week? If not, take time to walk through and notice some great kindergarten work. The Kindergarten classes have spent the last 2 weeks making charts and graphs comparing the Me bag homework items, how we came to school, and how many letters are in our first name.
I realize that you have received a lot of paperwork since school began! It is overwhelming-- I completely understand. LISD requires much of this paperwork to be completed, signed and returned. Please make sure you have returned the Student Agreement for the LISD Acceptable Use of technology, the Occupational survey and the release of information (yearbook pictures, directory information, responding by email agreement, etc.) form.

September 24 - Life Touch Fall Pictures (these will be the pictures that go in the yearbook also)
September 30 - PTA check drive over
