On Thursday, we welcomed Marcus varsity football player, Stefan, to our classroom!! The children were VERY EXCITED to meet him and can't wait to see him again! He will be coming every Thursday morning to visit and play with the kids. Please make sure your child wears good running shoes on Thursdays as we will be going outside to play. Also, next week is MHS Homecoming and I would like to put together a "goody bag" for Stefan to wish him well in the big game. If you would like to participate, please send in a small treat for Stefan by Wednesday. Some ideas are candy bars, $5 gift cards to Sonic or other restaurants, chips, snack mix, movie passes, or anything else you think a 17 year old guy would like. Or, if you'd prefer, you can send in a small cash donation and I will shop for you (any excuse to shop). But again, this is only optional. The kids will present his surprise to him on Thursday to wish him good luck.
Thank you so much for sending in items off my wish list!!! You are all so generous!! Everything will be put to good use!! I appreciate you greatly!
Due to the large number of students purchasing ice
cream every day, each second grade class has been assigned a day to purchase ice cream. So, our classes' day is Thursday to purchase ice cream.
If you decide to order books, please send in a check made to Scholastic. Please send orders in by next Friday, Sept. 19th.
Please leave your child's reading vocabulary homework sheet in their folder each night. That is the sheet that they read their words to me from. This needs to come back each day. They will read to me section #1 on Tuesday. You can take out the Lucy's Quiet Book vocabulary sheet and just leave in the Henry and Mudge vocabulary sheet.
Positive proof is this Wednesday.
Counselor on Friday.
Progress reports will be sent home on Monday, the 15th. Grades should never be a surprise. You can check them daily on-line. I enter grades almost daily.
