Welcome to Ms. Ryckeley's School Notes. I have decided to use School Notes instead of printing a Newsletter every week. This will be the place to find new information about your child's classroom.
There have been a couple of questions about the
"Specials" calendar. I sent home a handout at the beginning of October.
Monday: Spanish
Tuesday: P.E.
Wednesday: Library
Thursday: Art
Friday: Music
Many of the children are still writing their names in all capital letters. Please explain to your child why we only use one capital letter in our first name. I will introduce their last names after Christmas.

Holiday Party December 20th :)
Polar Express Day December 21st
The children will be able to wear their favorite P.J.'s!
I have changed the weekly readers due date to Friday, because I am now sending home a handout with the books. The handout also needs to be returned on Friday.
Weekly Readers
You child will be taking home a weekly reader every Monday, and it needs to be returned on Friday. These books focus on sight words. I would like for the children to read the book twice. Once to a parent and then once to another "object". I told the children that if they want to read to their favorite stuffed animal, that's just fine! I will be reading with each of the children during the week. I have talked with them about the importance of not misplacing the books. If you do happen to misplace or loose the book, please send in $5 to cover the cost.
Word Rings
Please help you child study his/her Word Ring. We will be adding new words almost every Friday. I will be sending home the words six, seven, and have this Friday.
Letter of the week
We will be working on the letter "Cc" this week. Letter C is very hard for the children, since letter C has two sounds. The /k/ and the /s/ sound.
