I would like to start teaching the students some math games for fact practice. I am in need of some decks of playing cards. I have 4 decks right now and need 7 more. If you would like to donate some playing cards I would appreciate it greatly. :)
We had such a great time with the Mr. Bear Mystery this week. The students we able to do several science experiments to get closer to the student that borrowed the bear without permission. We learned lots of life lessons with this activity too. Be sure to ask your child about it.
The second six weeks is here. I can not believe it. The students will be accountable for lots more. 5 points will be taken off of work without a name and numberas well as for not following directions. Let's all work to be responsible :)
Math: This week we will start timed tests. Your child will have a practice sheet in their homework packet on Monday. Everyday we will have a practice test on 20 math facts. On friday they will have the test for a grade over 20 facts. Remember....1 minute to answer 20 facts. We will start easy with adding 0 and 1
Excel lessons 27 - 30
-solving story problems using addition and subtraction
-number words 1 - 14
-half past the hour
-evaluating information to see if it is efficient to answer a ?
***I am noticing that some of the children are not using their check box on their excel sheets correctly. Please talk to your child about checking their work the proper way. :)
Also, we need to start looking at the signs on our work and starting in the ones place first when adding and subtracting. :)

-synonyms - words that mean the same
Comprehension test on Friday. The students will now be accountable for showing the page numbers to prove their answers on the test.
