CURRICULUM: Reading materials are taken from the LEAP/Language Arts approved reading lists. Novels/Plays are selected with TEKS/TAKS and real-life lessons and relevance in mind. As a gifted and talented class, we go in depth to look at what motivates and drives characters and the effects choices leave on our lives, as well as look for literary devices that authors use to move their audiences.
ESEMBLER GRADES: Updated by the end of the first day of each week. Grades will be posted in the hallway by the students' ID numbers so they can see any zeroes they my have. Zeroes must be made up by the following Friday for credit. Assignments not made up will receive a 1 and can no longer be turned in.
LATE Zeroes can be made up for full credit by the Friday following grade posting if a student answers 3 questions about the Grammar COWs correctly and earns an orange slip.
1s can be made up for late credit by the deadline agreed on if a student answers 7 questions about the Grammar COWs correctly and earns a pink slip.
LESSON PLANS CAN BE FOUND ON ESEMBLER. THEY ARE UPDATED EVERY AFTERNOON TO REFLECT THAT DAY'S ACTIVITIES, GOALS, DISCUSSION, AND CONTENT AS WELL AS THAT EVENING'S HOMEWORK AND/OR OTHER ASSIGNMENT DEADLINES.
