Why do we need to study text structure, literary elements, and word identification?
ENDURING UNDERSTANDINGS
Since good readers use knowledge of text structure, literary concepts, and word identification strategies to understand text, we need to identify character traits, motivation, conflict, pt. of view, plot, setting, problem resolution and study Greek/Latin roots and affixes, vocabulary development root words and affixes, denotation and connotation to increase our understanding.
