Monday, February 11th: A TAKS packet will be sent home. This is to be completed at home and with an adult. The packet is due Friday.

Social Studies:
This week students will begin their Explorer Research Project. They have choosen their partners, and they are ready to work. Students are given a rubric, and they are responsible for the information on the rubric. They will research a famous explorer and learn about their journey, birth, death, discoveries, and interesting facts. Students will prepare a PowerPoint slide show after information is gathered. This will be a fun learning experience.
Reading:
This week we will read A Cricket in Times Square. Our focus is on the elements of a story. We will also practice our vocabulary, predicting, and sequencing skills.
Spelling:
Don't forget: SPELLING TEST UNIT 23. Spelling Pre-Test is Monday. Spelling Test is Friday. If your child scores 100% or better- only do one Challenge Option, and there is no spelling test. If your child doesn't score 100%-2 parent and 2 individual options must be completed before Friday.
Writing:
This week students will complete Daily Edit- to practice their editing skills. Our persuasive writing focus continues as students write another persuasive composition.
Science:
Science this week wil be really fun. Our school nurse is coming to talk to all the fourth graders about nutrition and food. Students will also learn about healthy behaviors.
Math:
We are moving into 2x1 and 2x2 digit multiplication. We will take notes, complete examples as a class, and practice, practice, practice! Please go over your child's multiplication facts daily, so they know their facts.
