The school year is in full swing now and we are working hard!
Here is what we will be doing this week:
Math: We will be working with regrouping this week when adding 2-digit numbers. Continue helping with memorizing basic addition and subtraction facts.
Writing/Language: In writing we will be focussing on the subject of main ideas in writing. This week in language we will be looking at the 2 parts of a sentence, the subject and the predicate. A quiz is planned for Thursday.
Spelling: This week is unit 3. See your child's word study folder for their individual list.
Reading: This week's story is Allie's Basketball Dream.. We will be focusing on multiple meaning words, reading news sources and comprehension questions.
Science: Our unit on the physical properties of matter will continue this week as we learn about the 3 phases of matter. We will also be starting our keyboarding lessons on Tuesday.
Social Studies: A map quiz is planned for Tuesday. A review will be held in class on Monday. Then our unit on communities will begin.
