****Our class will be visiting Circle of Science tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 5. Circle of Science is located off campus so it is considered a "field trip". In order for your child to attend, a completed "Field Trip Consent Form" (the white form)and copy of your child's insurance card (back and front) must be on file in the office. While many have already submitted this information, several have not. If you have not already submitted this information, please do so on Friday morning. Please see Deanna in the office if you need her to make a copy of your child's insurance card. You may submit the Field Trip Consent Form and insurance information directly to Deanna or bring it to me in the classroom. Thank you.

REMINDERS:
1. Thanks Holly for the delicious snacks this past week. Bryn will be bringing snacks Sept. 8-12. Reminder: We have 17 in our class and we drink water with our snack.
2. We will make our first visit to Circle of Science on Friday, Sept. 5 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. The Circle of Science facility is located on Edmunds Lane just north of 3040. Students should wear the field trip t-shirt (navy crested) and long blue jeans or blue jean capris or regular uniform bottoms. My volunteers for this trip are: Jennifer Zemler, DeDe Richardson, Angie Palmer, Kelly Sloan, and Deanna Burks. We will leave LCA around 1:40. Parents, we will make monthly visits to Circle of Science. As the next date approaches, I will put out the call for more volunteers.
3. Individual "Teddy Bear Portraits" will be taken on Sept. 10-12. I will send home order forms and let you know the exact date when it becomes available to me. Students wear the regular uniform when taking pictures.
4. Students will eat lunch in the classroom on Thurs. Sept. 11.
5. Every Friday is "Spirit Day." On Fridays, students may wear the LCA crested field trip t-shirt with long blue jeans or blue jean capris (no blue jean shorts, please). The students may also wear the LCA crested field trip t-shirt with LCA uniform pants or shorts. The regular uniform is also acceptable.
6. My morning drop off duty day is Thurs. Sept. 18. It is a good opportunity for your child to walk the route coming up from drop off in the morning. Your child will sit with me until I finish my duty. If you walk your child to the classroom when I am on drop off duty, you must remain with your child until I arrive at the classroom. Your child should be seated quietly in the hallway. Thanks.
7. We are off to a great start! We're getting to know each other and learning how our classroom works. Here are some suggestions to help your kindergartener adjust to the new routines:
* Let your child carry their own backpack and lunchbox to school.
* Let your child be responsible for putting his own things away once they are in the classroom and getting settled into their seats.
* Try to say goodbye at the door. Hanging around is tempting, but some students have a hard time separating.
* Have your child stop for a restroom break BEFORE they enter the classroom.
