PHONICS: review special sounds and blends, mark vowels, continue in reading groups.
HANDWRITING: review letters and use them in words and sentences, and writing numerals. When handwriting, the students need to form the letters and numbers correctly and stay on the lines.
NUMBERS: review time, money, addition and subtraction facts.
SCIENCE: God's Plan for the Seashore.
SPELLING: No new words. Final test was May 23.
BIBLE LESSON: "Moses". The students will know the story of Moses from birth to the crossing of the Red Sea.
During the month of May, the students will memorize the Lord's Prayer for memory work. For May 30: "Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever."

Reminder from It's All Good Catering: As of Monday, May 19, students will no longer be able to charge lunch to a negative or zero balance account. Please send cash or use up the balance on your student's account.
There will be a change in catering services next school year. The new provider is Twelve Oaks Catering. Because this company is organized differently, please plan to attend the parent meeting at Open House on August 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the House of Prayer.
There will be no school Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.
The LCA elementary end of year program will be Thursday, May 29, from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM. It will be held in the House of Prayer. All students are to wear their RED uniform polo shirt and LONG blue jeans (no capris that day). Please plan to attend this program. All elementary classes will be performing.
Because the program will end at noon, parents are welcome to take their child out for lunch and/or take the rest of the day off. Just be sure to sign your child out in the office if you do. Enjoy!
LCA's Used Uniform Sale is Friday, May 30. Uniform drop off is Thursday, May 29.
Monday, June 2, is Crazy Hat Day. Your child may wear a crazy hat that day.
Students may wear their spirit wear (Navy LCA T-shirt and blue jeans or blue jean capris) Friday, May 30, June 2, and June 3. Regular uniforms may also be worn if desired.
The end of the year class party will be Tuesday, June 3. Dismissal will be 1:00 that day.
Can you believe the school year is almost over? It has just flown by. I have been so blessed to have such a great group of students and parents. Thank you for the wonderful year. I hope I get to see all of you next school year!
