Please review the letters Aa, Bb, Cc, Ff, Tt, and Ll with correct formation and sounds, _at/_an/_all families, and flash cards. The flash cards are words that we have covered extensively in class. They are responsible for knowing letters to date, word families learned and reading and writing the words under flash cards.
Keith Matheson our Marcus varsity football player will be in this Thurday. They will be playing the battle of the axes against Lewisville. Please send in spirit treats-Sonic cards, gatorade, candy, gum, treats, etc. Also, please have your child make him a spirit card:)
PLEASE SIGN/INITIAL your child's behavior chart nightly, empty all paperwork from folders, discuss their day, and RETURN their folders EVERY day.
We will be focusing on the letter L and the color brown this week. Don't forget to have your child wear brown on Friday. Jonathan's family has baby chicks and his mom is bringing the chicks to show our class one day this week!
Please continue to work on the letter formation and sounds for the letters we have covered so far. The letters are Aa, Bb, Cc, Ff, and Tt. We have also covered the at and an word families. Your child should be able to read, write, and spell words ending in at or an. Examples include cat, bat, can, man, etc.
Our class is still sharing our adopt-an-athelete with Mrs. Jordan's third grade class. His name is Kyle and he alternates weeks coming to our room and her room. Next time he comes, he is bringing a football so we can practice throwing!
Our library time is Thursday's from 2-2:20. Right now, we are going to the library to hear a story, but we hope to begin checking out books soon. When we do begin checking out books, please make sure they are returned by the following week.
Our motor lab schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30-9:00. Thank you to the volunteers who make motor lab run smoothly.
This week we are studying the letter L,l, Fall, Leaves and the color brown. We will start on Topic 3 in Math, talking about numbers. We will also talk about friendship and liking yourself as well.
We wore our orange Kindergarten shirts on Friday and they looked so cute. Please return the orange shirts for me to keep in the closet, if you feel like you cannot keep up with them. We will need to wear them on Field Day in a couple of weeks. After that you may keep them at home to wear when you want or you can leave them here. We will need to wear them as a group again in April for our Field Trip and in May for our Play Day.
Our Marcus Football buddy, Taylor Chapa, will be here Thursday to hang out with our class and Mrs. Jackson's for a while. I think he is bringing his football, so dress your child in sneakers to run around and play. You are welcome to send in small treats or cards for a spirit bag for Taylor.
Please continue to do one homework sheet per night to return the next day. It should be colored and your child may either write the words in the blanks or cut and paste the strips from the bottom.
*Library is on Thursdays at 1:30. We are only going for story time as of now and not checking out books yet.
Motor Lab is going great! Thanks to the parents who signed up to help. I will keep you all in a rotation through out the year. Let me know if your schedule changes and you can only work certain days.
Wish List items: expo markers for the Motor Lab.
Thanks again,
Kristi Larkin
