The children had a wonderful time at the Kid's Kastle yesterday! We could not have asked for better weather; it was beautiful. Hopefully we wore them out enough for you:-) Thank you to all of our wonderful parents that came to help. We could not do it without you! We are blessed with so many wonderful volunteers.
Please remember that Monday, June 1st at 12:00 is our Kindergarten ceremony. This is a wonderful time to celebrate all your children have accomplished throughout the year. We hope to see you there.
Next Friday the 5th of June is an Early Release Day. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up at 1:30.

Words of the week: dog, log, smog, fog, hog, frog...
Please look under the flash card section of this website and create flashcards for your child. The words on the list are words we have learned in class. Your child should be able to read and write all the words. Using the flashcards is a great way to enhance what they have learned. If you feel like there are additional words that you would like for your child to also review for enrichment, please feel free to add those to your list.
Homework:
Monday: Write 10 word family words-Review
Tuesday: Write two complete sentences using the word family _og in each sentence. Remember to use proper spacing, punctuation, and capitalization.
Wednesday: Write your first and last name five times using proper letter formation and tie your shoes.
Thursday: The days of the week and the months of the year.
Friday: Have a great weekend :)

Thank you to Mrs. Hackett, Mrs. McCraney and Mrs. Pine for helping our class in Motor Lab and in our classroom! Thank you to Mrs. Savoy for coming to read to our class and for bringing the delicious cookies!
We are going to Motor Lab on Mondays at 9:00 a.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. Please be sure your child wears tennis shoes.
Our class is divided into five sections for specials as follows: Mrs. Handel's class - Chase, Trenton & Reagan; Mrs. Larkin's class - Olivia, Bridgett, Abby & Madi; Mrs. Mitchell's class - Nicholas, Nathan, Emily & Connor; Mrs. Rana's class - Rebecca, Maddie, Luke & Ben; Mrs. William's class - Caitlin, Tommy & Lauren.
Our library time is Wednesday at 1:30. Please be sure your child returns his/her book each week so a new book may be checked out.

Thank you to each of the chaperones and additional parents that joined us at the zoo! We had a wonderful time and the students are still talking about their favorite animals and parts of the day.
I will be scheduling parent conferences in the next two week before taking maternity leave. Please be looking for a note concerning this in the first part of the week.
We visit the library each Tuesday. Please help your child remember to return his/her book on or before Tuesday. They are only allowed to check out one at a time.

PLEASE remember to have your child bring back their library book this Tuesday. This week will be our last library check out of the year.
Please continue to review what we have covered in class. We have covered all letters and sounds, but have extensively covered the letters Aa, Bb, Cc, Dd, Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll, Mm, Nn, Oo, Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss, Tt, Uu, Vv, Ww, Xx, Yy and Zz with correct formation and sounds, _at/_an/_am/_all/_ig/_ip/_ap/_og families, and flash cards. The flash cards are words that we have covered extensively in class. They are responsible for knowing letters to date, word families learned and reading and writing the words under flash cards.

We will be going to the book fair from 1:30-1:55 on Wednesday, May 13th. Parents are welcome to come or just send money in an envelope labeled with your child's name.
Please continue to work on the letter formation and sounds for the letters we have covered so far. The letters are Aa, Bb, Cc, Ff, Tt, Ll, Jj, Ss, Ii, Mm, Hh, Ww, Kk, Xx, Vv, Gg, and Zz. We have also covered the at, an, am, all, ig, ip, ug, ing, ox, and ot word families. Your child should be able to read, write, and spell words ending in at, an, or all. Examples include ball, cat, bat, can, man, etc.
Our library time is Thursday's from 2-2:20. Please make sure the books are returned by Thursday.
Our motor lab schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30-9:00. Thank you to the volunteers who make motor lab run smoothly. Please have your child wear tennis shoes to motor lab. :)
