Beginning Spanish
7th grade and 6th block(8th grade)
We are half way through our first chapter. We have covered greetings, titles, goodbyes, and polite words. We even spent a day ordering food using our polite words. After a quiz on all these words, we have now begun the second half of the chapter. This half covers days of the week, months of the year, numbers, and seasons. We will have a test on this chapter toward the middle of October.
Continuing Spanish 8th grade (5th and 12th blocks)
We are almost finished reviewing the second of the 3 chapters covered in second grade. Our review test will be the week of Oct. 6-10. In this chapter, we are spending more time on verbs -something we didn't spend as much time on in the 7th grade. Next chapter to review covers classes, describing things at school, and telling time. When we finish our comprehensive review, we will spend a day playing jeopardy using all of things that we have covered so far.

Welcome to Hallsville Junior High Spanish.
This class is a basic introduction to Spanish language and culture. This class is an elective and does not count as High School credit. We cover vocabulary, grammar, culture, countries, and holidays. We use a book called Buen Viaje. We move very slowly. We spend a lot of time on each chapter we cover so that the students learn the words well. Seventh graders may choose to take one semester, and eighth graders may take up to two semesters.
8th graders will receive a book to keep at home during the semester. Please encourage students to study the book during the semester. I will also give each student a copy of all the words we are learning in each chapter as we come to it. This is what the student needs to study to be ready for the test at the end of the chapter. I also require students to write in their agenda every class period, so if you would like to know what chapter they are studying or when tests are coming, please check their agendas. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for visiting my site. I hope you check out the Spanish web-sites below.
