Welcome to Hallsville Junior High Spanish.
This class is a basic introduction to Spanish language and culture. This class is an elective and does not count as High School credit. We cover vocabulary, grammar, culture, countries, and holidays. We use a book called Buen Viaje. We move very slowly. We spend a lot of time on each chapter we cover so that the students learn the words well. Seventh graders may choose to take one semester, and eighth graders may take up to two semesters.
Please encourage students to study their vocabulary during the semester. I will also give each student a copy of all the words we are learning in each chapter as we come to it. This is what the student needs to study to be ready for the test at the end of the chapter. I also require students to write in their agenda every class period, so if you would like to know what chapter they are studying or when tests are coming, please check their agendas.
