WELCOME TO 7TH GRADE!!!
We have had a wonderful week getting to know each other, becoming familiar with classroom procedures, and learning school rules.
We have jumped into Literary elements and are working on character analysis. We will continue to analyze characters and study the importance of setting in a story. We will always be applying these skills to our writing after we explore them in a written piece of work.
We are also reviewing capitalization and punctuation rules. We are learning to put sentences in diagram format. We began with a review of subject/noun and verbs. This week we will add adjectives and adverbs. We are also working on the morphemes anti, co, dis, and il. We will quiz over these skills each Friday after practicing them daily during warm-ups.
We will have a Common Assessment on Friday, September 9.
A Writing Diagnostic Test will be given next week.
We will visit the Library this Wednesday. We will go to the Library every 2 weeks during class. Students may also visit the Library before school or during lunch.
Remember that attendance is very important to your education! Please strive for 100% attendance!!!
