We have now begun the book, The Outsiders, by S. E. Hinton. It is about two rival social classes, the Greasers and the Socials, the Socs. The main theme is "discovery of one's self", and that all people are really the same. I'm sure there will be very good discussions as the book progresses. You might want to get a copy to continue the discussions at home.
We are also working very hard on our reading skills to prepare for the reading TAKS test. This week is main idea and summary. Next week will be on sequencing.
