Common questions:
Q: Do I have to have my parents permission to join?
A: Yes, no exceptions. A form will be given to you, it must be signed and returned by the assigned date given to you by Mrs. Boyd.
Q: Do I have to attend the meetings?
A: Yes, your articles will not be accepted unless you are able to attend on a regular basis. There are only so many emergencies that I will accept, plan on being at every meeting.
Q: Will I get my name in the paper for what I wrote?
A: Yes, if you don't want your name to appear let me know asap! Your name will appear with first name initial followed by your last name.
Q: I don't see Mrs. Boyd everyday, how do I turn in my articles on time?
A: Type the article on Microsoft Word and email the file to me, or handwrite and deliver to me before or after school. Also you can stop by my room and drop off the article in the brown box on my shelf in between class periods if that is easier for you.
Q: How will this help me for future newsletter/paper work, such as High School classes.
A: This will help you get used to the format of how a paper is run, meeting deadlines, having big responsiblities, writing for quality, and working well with others. We will take a field trip to Bowie HS during the year to visit the Journalism department. This is one of our big highlights for the year.
