Welcome again!
This week my students will be creating "Found Art." This form of art uses everyday, common items not usually associated with art as an art medium. The students have been challenged to create artworks using Styrofoam cups, magazines, string, fruit, vegetables, wire, sticks and a variety of other things.
The results have been awesome! I have rocket ships, collages, busts of Jamaican natives, robots, picture frames and so many creative works, I can't name them all.
Congratulations to Levi Skala, Ryan Moellar, Leonardo Castillo, Morgan Slovacek, Josefina Bravo and Matt Bender whose "Doodle 4 Google" designs were selected to represent R-LMS in the nationwide contest.
Doodles by Sterling Hay, Megan Pomykal, Chance Polk, Tatum Hoelsher, Brandon Butler and Erik Perez will represent R-LHS.
Judges had a very hard time narrowing it down to six from each campus.
Next week will be the end of the fifth six weeks. Time has really flown this year!
