Camp Read and Write

Wednesday, May 20-Wednesday, May 27

Every May, third grade has a fun-filled week with camping in the classroom!  It is a wonderful conclusion to our Habitats planner. We will be doing fun learning activities in our transformed classroom.  I need to borrow 5 tents to use for the camp week.  If we can use your tent, send a note or email me. Then please send the tent to school on Tuesday, May 19.  Also, I would like to have parents' help setting up the tents after school on Tuesday, May 19.  If you can volunteer, just show up at 3:00!  On Wednesday, May 20 you child can bring a sleeping bag or blanket, pillow, stuffed animal, books, a flashlight or any other camping tool to use in class.  On Wednesday May 20 your child will be sending you a persuasive letter trying to get you to pick them up from camp. (remember the song Camp Granada?)  Your homework will be to write them a letter back.  We have so much fun reading your letters in class the next day!

Awards are scheduled for Thursday, May 21 at 8:30.

Our class party is scheduled for 11:00 on Thursday May 28.  That is also an early release day at 12:30.

Thank you for such a wonderful teacher appreciation week!  I can't believe this year is almost over.  I have enjoyed teaching your children and will miss them dearly.
