Week 1

Kindergarten
August 24th-28th
Parents,
You will receive a note like this every week.  I will try to keep you up to date on everything.
This week we will focus on procedures and rules.  Next week will begin our first PYP planner, (All About Me).
Information
-Red Folders and E-mailed Green folders will go home every Tuesday.  In them you will find more information than you ever wanted about school life at Mark Twain.  Please read through everything.  Return red folders to school Wednesday or Thursday.
-L.D.C. is a special program we are fortunate to have at Mark Twain.   It focuses on reading, writing, listening, and speaking.  We will cycle in for two weeks and then have a few weeks off before our next turn.  Journal takes its place in the schedule on off weeks.
-Journal is student writing time.  I help small groups and parents take dictation from other children.  The student’s stories are then dramatized at the end of the hour.  This is a fun-filled learning activity for all involved.
-Parent Volunteers are welcome and encouraged.  This week we are getting organized.  Please see the forms in the red folder for ways to be involved.
-Birthday Parties are allowed on the playground after lunch.  We ask that you only bring cupcakes since they will just have eaten lunch.  We have a child in the class with peanut allergies.  Please plan for that when providing treats for the class.  I am happy to send home Birthday party invitations in the red folder, if your are inviting the entire class.  Otherwise they need to be mailed.
-Please make sure I have your class directory information.
*We have gotten off to a great start!  Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions that may come up.
  Thanks,
Ms.Mouftah
