The last month of school has arrived! And what a busy month it will be as we prepare for first grade. Our field trip to the Arboretum was a huge success and was a perfect activity to compliment our science lessons and "This Land is Your Land" planner. We will take our final field trip to the Museum of Fine Arts on Tuesday, May 13. It is a very short field trip; about 2 hours. We will have a docent from the Museum take us to various pre-determined paintings to discuss the paintings, the artist, and the artist's style and read us a correlating story. This goes well with our final planner "Every Picture Tells a Story". Thank you to Charmi and Aqib's moms for agreeing to chaperone.
Many of you have asked about Summer School. It is optional and your child qualifies because English is their second language. It is enrichment and has nothing to do with being promoted to the first grade; it simply provides more opportunity to work on their English. We kindergarten teachers will also be sending home a "summer packet" with suggestions and activities you can do at home to help keep them "school-ready."
We have 3 May birthdays: Natalia (14), Kenta (16), and Hamude (30) and we welcome our new student from Saudi Arabia, Wala. Also, several of our students will be welcoming new brothers or sisters soon! Congratulations to Hamude, Ellie, and Saarah's families.
I have enjoyed being your child's teacher and am very proud of their progress this year!
