Last week we started our weather planner which is titled Wacky Weather. The central idea is: Extreme weather affects living things and geography. It is an inquiry into:
• Types of extreme weather
• Causes of extreme weather
• Effects of extreme weather
• Tools for predicting weather
After being exposed to pictures and books about weather, the students chose the topic they wanted to learn about, which included: droughts, hurricanes/typhoons, rainstorms/thunder/lightning, tornados, and blizzards/ice storms. This week the students will research the topic with their group. Next week they will work on presenting their information to the class.
The Carnival is next Friday, and we need help with our booth. There is a sign up sheet outside of the room. If you can work one of the following times, please let me know, and I will add your name to the list:
2:45-4:00
4:00-5:00
5:00-6:00
