Welcome to Kindergarten!
I am looking forward to getting to know your children and you!
*Snacks - send in a small baggie with their name on it that can be eaten in 5 or so minutes and then thrown away. No drinks please.
*If your child is absent for any reason, please send a note to school.
*Students should be in the classroom by 8:05. If not, please pick up an admission slip from the office.
*Please look through the Tuesday folder and return it the following day.
** Leveled readers will be coming home in a blue book bag on a weekly basis. The children should read them easily as they were read several times during the week. Return the bag on Tuesdays.
HOMEWORK -
**Please use the word lists that have been sent home. Have your child practice writing the words as you call them out. They should "sound out" the word first then write it. Don't let them labor over the handwriting as they will forget the sounds!
Your child will get a homework calendar at the beginning of each month. Please help them complete 4 activities each week and return the calendar (and any work they want to show me) at the end of the month.
Check backpacks on a daily basis for tickets and classwork. Although there is not a "homework folder," parents should go over any papers that come home at the end of the day for reinforcement. This will mainly pertain to the Superkids (Language Arts) as Math, Science, & Social Studies are often hands on learning.
Also, check out snapfish.com for pics of your kiddos at school.
