Schedule:
Dear Parents,
We want to welcome your student and you to fifth grade. We are looking forward to a very exciting year of learning. Fifth grade is a very special year, and we can’t wait to share the many unique experiences we are planning with you and your child.
Fifth grade also brings many questions to the minds of parents, and so we are hoping that communication will be easy and simple. Please feel free to email us here at school ANY TIME. We are able to respond to emails very quickly. However, if you prefer to visit by phone, please call the school at 281-897-4500. A message will be placed in our box, and we will return it as soon as we possibly can, but the response time may be longer, as our planning is the last period of the day.
We would also like you to know some of our expectations for your fifth grader. We will be sending home the majority of school information on FRIDAY. This will give you more time to read and respond to the information. A weekly communication card will be sent as well and will require your signature every week. In fifth grade, homework is graded and becomes a very important part of the curriculum and the report card grade. Your student will have homework every night (except Friday) in one or more subjects. All fifth grade teachers are asking students to bring only the required school materials. There are to be no purses, pencil sharpeners, etc. If it’s on the school supply list, it is acceptable. This will eliminate many problems that often occur with lost or misplaced personal items.
We are looking forward to sharing more information with you at our Open House on September 10th. Please feel free to contact us at any time. As a team, we can guarantee your child’s success.
It’s going to be a great year, because of fifth grade,
Let’s have a great year!
