1.) Textbooks have been issued. Any student who does not have a book should tell Mr. Hartman as soon as possible.The book should be left at home for reading assignments, help with homework, and studying for tests. Please be aware that the book costs $54.50. Students will have to pay for the book if they lose it.
2.) Spring Benchmark Test for science will be given Th/F 2/12-13/09 This test will count as a major grade in addition to identifying students in need of extra help in science. This will be a comprehensive test of 50 questions over science content to date. Students should plan on studying several nights for this important test. I recommend that students study their lab notebooks, chapter notes, chapter summaries at the end of each chapter, and graded work they have been keeping in their folders. Common Assessment #4 over plate tectonics and the universe that was originally scheduled for this date will not be given.
3.) Read Chapter 1 Chemical Interactions pp 22-55 and write 2 pages of notes due M/T 2/16-17/09. The format of the notes will be the student's choice.
4.) Star packets are due Th/F 2/19-20/09. Students received these papers in class on Th/F 2/5-6/09.
5.) Grades for the third nine weeks will close Monday 3/9/09. All work including makeup work must be handed in by that time unless you come 3/11 for makeup.Makeup days will be Wednesdays beginning at 7:45 in room S-3.
6.) All late work will be accepted only after the students attends AIP and turns in the missing work to Mr.Cowan.

Earth Structure packets due M/T 1/12-13/09
Read Chapter 8 2 pages notes due M/T 1/26-27/09
Plate Tectonics packets are due Th/F 1/29-30/09
Makeup and extra help days are Wednesdays before school at 7:45 to 8:30 and at other times by prior appointment.
