Testing is finally over and we will continue to learn until the end of the school year. We will finish the year working on an interdiciplinary unit about the Civil War and a field studies unit involving areas around Johnston Middle School and Brays Bayou.
Textbooks will be taken up in science classes as follows: purple day students - Monday, May 5th; periods 5 and 7 gray day students on Thursday, May 7th; and period 6 gray students on Monday, May 12th.
Algebra and foreign language books will not be taken up until the week of May 19th.
Updated gradesheets will be available for students starting Monday, May 5th. Five more grades will be recorded before the end of the grading cycle. We will work until the very end of school. Learning did not stop with the TAKS test on May 1st.
Finally, students have worked diligently to prepare for the science TAKS test. I am very proud of their efforts, attention, and patience. Mr. Cade and I are expecting fabulous results for Team 8M science students. Mr. Cade has promised and is planning a pizza party for all our students if we meet our TEAM 8M goal of 80% passing. Details will be shared as soon as we get the results.
I will finalize the May schedule by Monday, May 5th and pass on the information.
