Parents, Thank you for taking the time to see what we are doing. I have a few things for your information that assistance.
This year eighth grade students will be required to pass the TAKS Math and Reading test. This works the same as it did in third and fifth grades. We are working on several skills that are vital to our success.
Integers Rule appear to be one item that students could use some reinforcement at home. These rules MUST be memorized. Each student has these rules on an index card and on a handout in their folder. There is extra practice sets in the back of their textbook and in the workbook.
Even at eighth grade we have difficulty with multiplication facts. 7 x 8 and 6 x 9 just to name a couple still confuse. Extra time on these will only make them stronger. If you are not sure how your child does with this, find out. It is never a waste of time to access your childs knowledge.
