POLICIES

LATE WORK will be accepted up to 3 days after the due date.
A penalty of 10 points per day will be assessed
on all late work.

ABSENCES.  Students are responsible for inquiring about
missed work upon their return to school after an
absence.

READING LOGS.  Every Friday will be spent on Reading
Logs unless otherwise specified.  Bring your own
reading material or use the provided newspapers.

2ND six weeks topics
1. Plot
2. Compare/Contrast (2 characters, opinions, teams,
                     situations etc)
3. Conflict
4. Setting
5. Characterization

2ND SIX WEEKS

11/2 - Questions from "The Pit and The Pendulum"
       # 2,3,5,7,8,10-15.  In complete sentences
       with textual evidence.

10/30 - Intro "American Romantic Movement"

10/27 - Flash cards due (vocab 26-50)
        Aphorisms due

10/25 - Junior conferences with counselors

10/24 - Benjamin Franklin "Poor Richard's Almanack"

10/23 - Read "Olaudah Equiano" page 189 in textbook.
        Complete worksheet (due 10/24)
10/20 - Group project due
"Personal Declaration of Independence"
Must use the format and formal language of Jefferson's
Declaration of Independence.

10/18 - PSAT

10/10 (Tuesday) - Essays Due.
Typed or NEATLY handwritten.
Double spaced, 12 pt font, Times New Roman or Arial ONLY.

!!!10/06 - ESSAY DUE DATE HAS CHANGED TO 10/10!!!

10/3 - Rough Draft of essay due for Peer Editing.

9/29 - (DUE 10/10)5 paragraph essay analyzing the actions, ideas and
characters in The Crucible and Good Night Good Luck.
Must include direct quotes from the play and or
the film and explanations of how those quotes are
connected to your opinions/thoughts.
