Dear Parents and Students of Mackenzie Middle School,
Welcome to 8th grade math! Our first six weeks is filled with problem solving strategies and number concepts.
The students are reviewing operations with rational numbers. We are working with equations and will soon practice scientific notation. Our Number Concepts assessment will be Tuesday, October 7th.
Students are taking an integer operations speed test each week. The highest grade will be recorded. The last test given will not be timed. Once a student has made a 100 in 3 minutes or less, the speed test is optional.
We will be using a class set of books in Math. If you would like for your child to have a Math book at home as a resource, they may check one out from Ms. Gonzales in the book room.
