Welcome to Steve Davis' Social Studies page. I'm not completely computer-savvy, so I won't promise any special experiences. Just notes about my class.
Here's what we have going on for the weeks of April 16 and April 23:
MONDAY 4/16
Some classes will be finishing presentations first. Afterwards, the kids will get a Canadian timeline assignment. Students will be able to choose a partner for this, or they can work on their own. They will be using their textbook to locate important events in Canada's path toward independence, then creating a timeline displaying the events.
TUESDAY 4/17
Class will spend the period working on the timelines
WEDNESDAY 4/18
Class will spend the period working on the timelines
THURSDAY 4/19
Timelines due at the end of the class period.
FRIDAY 4/20
No school. Enjoy your three-day weekend.
**Additional assignment if the timeline gets finished early - Students can (extra credit) illustrate any 50-year period of Canadian history on a poster, for presentations next week.
MONDAY 4/23
The class will receive a similar assignment relating to Mexico's path toward independence. This will also be due on Thursday, and will also carry an additional assignment for extra credit of illustrating a 50-year period of Mexican history on a poster, for presentations at the end of the week.
TUESDAY 4/24
Class will spend the period working on the timelines
WEDNESDAY 4/25
Class will spend the period working on the timelines
THURSDAY 4/26
Timelines due at the end of the class period.
FRIDAY 4/27
Today will be presentation day for the students who chose to do the additional assignment. Time permitting, I will show a video relating to Mexico's independence.
Compare and contrast essay to follow about Mexico v. Canada and their path to independence.
HAVE A GOOD WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!
