WELCOME TO MS. WATKINS' 8th/9th Grade HOMEWORK SITE! This schoolnotes page will be updated at the beginning of each week for the remainder of the school year.

IT'S IMPERATIVE THAT STUDENTS BRING IN THEIR NEEDED SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN MY CLASS.
                      
                    8th Grade
This week students will be working on Section 2 of Ch. 3:Heredity. This section focuses on how genes and alleles are related to genotype and phenotype;Using a Punnett square to explain how probability can be used to predict possible genotypes in offspring.

Students will need to bring in a bag of marshmellows (big or small) to class for lab on Wednesday, 12-3-08.

Our Lab Activity this week: Bug Builders, Inc.

Lab Investigation Objectives: Students will examine the traits of a population of offspring, and build models to further their understanding of inheritance.

Homework assignments for the week of 12/01/08-12/05/08:

Monday: Finish Punnett Square Worksheet.

Tuesday: Finish Coin Activity; Due tomorrow; Bring Marshmellows for lab activity;Punnett Square Worksheet

FYI: ALL HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS ARE ALSO LISTED ON THE BOARD AND REMAIN FOR 1 WEEK.

                        9th Grade

It is Imperative that students bring a calculator and graph paper to class to ensure success in this class.

Students will be introduced to (ch. 18)Atoms and Elements, and the History of the Atomic Structure. Students will need to have their Physical Science Textbook to keep at home for assignments, and to review their chemistry notes daily.
