TEST OUTLINE – UNIT 2, LESSON 1

A.  Fill in the blanks using the adverb forms with the –mente ending for the adjectives in                                    parentheses. (10 points)  Example:  Compiten (serio) _____________. =  seriamente

B.  Complete the following statements by filling in the blanks with the preterite of the verbs in parentheses (10 points)    Example:  Nosotros (volver) ____________________

F.  Complete these sentences about the soccer championship yesterday by filling in the correct preterite forms of the verbs listed in the box. (14 points)

G.  Read the article about the Olympics and the Panamerican Games. Then complete the questions about the article. (8 points).

11/5/09:(Thursday): Substitute today. Completed worksheet in class on demonstrative adjectives. Vocabulary quiz changed to next Tuesday.

11/4/09:(Wednesday): Turned in crossword puzzle. Reviewed vocabulary(p. 109). Notes: Demonstrative Adjectives/Pronouns. Homework: Demonstratives packet, quiz on vocabulary p. 109 on Friday.

11/3/09:(Tuesday): Checked packets from Monday. Homework: Copy R4 into Vocabulary Notes and finish puzzles from Friday. Presentations are due. Vocabulary quiz on Friday from page 109.

11/2/09:(Monday-Substitute): Preterit-ER,-IR and Sports and Fitness Packets.

10/30/09:(Friday): Presentations. Worksheet vocabulary practice puzzles. Crossword and Wordsearch for periods 2-7 due on Tuesday. All presentations (absent groups) are due on Tuesday.

10/29/09:(Thursday): Worked on skit presentations. Homework: Copy vocabulary 2.1 on page 109 into notes.

10/28/09:(Wednesday): Test 1.2. Homework: Memorize lines for group presentation due tomorrow.

Part A: Listening-conversation about what someone did on their vacation. Multiple choice answers(6 pts.)

Part B: Look at a picture and write what the people did during their vacations according to the illustrations.(10 points)Example: Picture of someone fishing. Juan ___________.(pesco). Know vocabulary p. 79 and preterite tense.

Part C: Complete the friends comments about shopping with the correct word from the box. (5 points). Ex:
Yo fui a la tienda de __________. (artesanias)Know vocabulary on page 79.

Part D: A friend is asking you about your vacation. Answer each question with a word or two from the box.
(10 pts.) Ex: Por que no compraste recuerdos? (dinero en efectivo) Answer: No compre recuerdos por que no tengo(tuve) dinero en efectivo.

Part E: Write the preterito of the verb in parentheses.
Ex: Y tu, Alicia, que (hacer)? Answer: hiciste (10 pts.)

Part F: Reading: An e-mail to parents about a daughter's vacation. (4 pts.) Answer questions. Know question words on page 64.

10/22/09: Listening Practice Workbook pages 35/36. Introduced skit (due next Thursday-on side board). Homework: Workbook pages 38/39(Leer A&B). Test next Tuesday on 1.2.

10/21/09: Practiced writing with vocabulary and preterite tense. Homework: Workbook pages 30,31,32. Test next Tuesday.

10/20/09: Quiz today on vocabulary 1.2. Homework/Classwork - Workbook pages 24,25,26,27,28. Copy R3 vocabulary from the back of the textbook into notes by Friday.

10/19/09: Read textbook pages 63,68,73. Did activities in textbook pages 71-72. Homework/Classwork: Worksheet 69-70 in periods 1,2,3,6. page 48 in period 7. Quiz tomorrow on vocabulary page 79-Translate Spanish to English(write the word in English).

10/16/09: Took a quiz in period 6 and homework was worksheet pages 45/46(most finished it in class)-due Monday. Periods 1,2,3 watched a movie. Period 7 did worksheet page 69-due Monday.

10/15/09: Notes: Irregular Preterite. Homework: Worksheet pages 51&52.(Pop quiz in period 6. Study -AR preterite notes from Tuesday and vocabulary from pages 60-64-jewelry and shopping vocabulary.) Vocabulary quiz next Tuesday (Spanish to English)-Study page 79 vocabulary.

10/14/09: Substitute. Completed worksheet on -AR preterite and Costa Rica.\

10/13/09: Read textbook pages 60-62 (vocabulary). Notes on AR Preterite Tense. Homework: Vocabulary worksheet pages 42/43.

10/9/09: Watched a movie on Costa Rica.

10/8/09: Did workbook pages 8&9 in class. Read textbook pages 42,48,52(Costa Rica). Homework: Write lesson 2 vocabulary on page 79 into your notes.

10/7/09: Test on Unit one lesson one. No homework, but check grade online for missing assignments.

10/6/09: Reviewed for Test. Study for test tomorrow p. 55, notes and study guide.

10/5/09: Reviewed direct and indirect object pronouns in class. Homework: Finish packet if not done and study page 55 for test on Wednesday.

10/2/09: Unit 1.1 test next Wednesday. Combining worksheet in class. Homework: period 7 only - Combining worksheet. Circle and underline pronouns. Write the pronouns above and rewrite the sentence with the indirect object pronoun before the direct object pronoun in front of the conjugated verb.

10/1/09: Quiz today on indirect object pronouns. Notes in class on combining pronouns. Did worksheet in class on combining.

9/30/09: Collected homework in periods 3 and 6 for a grade. Did workbook page 7 and reviewed for indirect object pronoun test tomorrow.

9/29/09: Reviewed direct object pronouns and indirect object pronouns. Quiz on Thursday (like flashcards-notes and last Thursday's worksheet). Homework: Finish indirect object pronoun packet.

9/25/09: Reviewed Indirect Object Pronouns. Finished Nemo movie in Spanish. No homework.

9/24/09: Notes Indirect Object Pronouns. Read textbook pages 44-47. Did worksheet on Indirect Object Pronouns in class-finish at home if needed.

9/23/09: Quiz on direct object pronouns (study outline and notes).

9/22/09: Reviewed for quiz tomorrow. Handout: quiz outline. Did workbook pages 4,5,6 in class for a grade(Periods 2&3 page 4 for homework). Homework: Study for quiz on direct object pronouns.

9/21/09: Read pages 39-42 in textbook. Reviewed direct object pronouns. Quiz on Wednesday on pages 40-41 and notes. Homework/Classwork: Do first page of direct object pronoun worksheet. If you understand it, finish the second page.

9/18/09: Homework/Classwork-Worksheet Puzzles. Watched Nemo with Spanish subtitles.

9/17/09: Notes: Direct Object Pronouns. Homework/Classwork: Worksheet direct object pronouns.

9/16/09: Textbook page 36-38-Practiced vocabulary. Homework: Workbook pages 1,2,3. Write name on workbook. You may tear out the first unit and bring everyday, so you don't have to bring the whole workbook everyday.

9/15/09: Copy Page R2(back of textbook) 2nd column only into your notes. Homework: Worksheet pages 30-31.

9/14/09: Conversation with new vocabulary p. 55 in class. Did worksheet pgs. 18-19 in class. Homework: Worksheet 39-40 and work on p. 55 vocabulary list (bring to class).

9/11/09: Preliminary Lesson Test. Homework: Copy vocabulary words on page 55 into notes.

9/10/09: Played Pig Game with p. 29 vocabulary words. Took practice test in class. The answers are attached. Homework: Study for the test tomorrow on Preliminary Lesson, pages 1-29. Study notes and practice test. Make flashcards if needed to study any words on page 29 you don't know.

9/9/09: Test Outline for Friday's test. Worksheet pgs. 20/21 in class. Homework: Worksheet pages 15-16. Do at least through part 3 and study for Friday's test.

9/8/09: Turned in Homework in periods 3 and 6 for a grade after correcting it.  Took notes on Stem-Change Verbs. Homework: Worksheet-Stem changing verbs. All but 1st section was completed in class. Test on preliminary lesson is Friday.

9/4/09: Classwork: Reviewed articles, ser, people. Textbook pages 22-24. Took required notes on present tense. Homework/Classwor: Worksheet -AR,-ER,-IR Verbs.
Study page 29 vocabulary words for test next Friday.

9/3/09: Classwork: Worksheet 17 (Ser/Estar). Finished Worksheet Ser vs. Etar in class and translated. Reviewed subject pronouns. Homework: Worksheet-subject pronouns(Mexican flag).

9/2/09: Reviewed Ser vs. Estar. Handout-Ser vs. Estar. Homework/Classwork: Worksheet Ser vs. Estar Complete sections A, B, and C through number 20 on the back. Translate all the sentences to English.

9/1/09: Took notes on Ser vs. Estar. Reviewed Tener expressions. Read textbook pages 18-21. Homework: Worksheet-Crossword on to be verbs.

8/31/09: Reviewed Ir-to go on pages 14-17. Classwork: Worksheet pages 13&14. Homework: worksheet page 12.

8/28/09: Test 1-2 Verbs. Homework/Classwork: Worksheet pages 9&10. Want to get ahead? Study page 29 vocabulary.

8/27/09: Reviewed 1-2 Verbs and played popcorn game to review for test tomorrow. Homework: Study 1-2 Verb Review handout for test tomorrow. Matching.

8/26/09: Reviewed Gustar(pages 10-13). Played pig game on 1-2 irregular verbs. Homework/Classwork: Worksheet page 11 and study 1-2 Verbs for test on Friday. Everyone should have a 3-ring notebook or section for Spanish in a larger notebook.

8/25/09: Reviewed adjectives/agreement and tener. Homework/Classwork: Worksheet pages 7&8 and Crossword puzzle with 1-2 verbs. Use the 1-2 verbs handout that is your test on Friday to do the crossword puzzle. Most verbs will be used in the infinitive (unconjugated form), some will be conjugated. Example: #5 across is encender, #8 across is cuesta, #1 down is juego, #49 down is abres.

8/24/09: Reviewed adjective agreement and tener. Homework/Classwork: Worksheet pages 5&6. Study 1-2 verbs handout for test on Friday.

8/21/09: Reviewed textbook pages 0-5 in class. Homework/Classwork:  Worksheet pages 3&4, finish p. 29 vocabulary and put it in your 3-ring notebook. 1-2 verbs test is next Friday.

8/20/09: Took Diagnostic Test in class and got the take-home textbook. Please look through the book and be sure there are no missing pages or excessive writing in it. Homework: Copy the vocabulary section on page 29 of the textbook on a piece of paper, and keep it in your 3-ring notebook. This is due on Monday since it is a lot of writing. Continue to study the 1-2 verbs handout for the test next Friday, the 28th. Flashcards are helpful.
