Monday:
Bellwork:  Copy the read to learn p.70
1.    Identify the crop that saved the people of Jamestown.
2.    Explain how the colonists received political rights.
Assignment:  
1.    Watch 2 minute video clip of “NO Kings” from School House Rock Series.
2.    Pre-reading questions in journal to activate prior knowledge:
a.    Have you ever moved from one place to live in another? Did you move far away?  What kinds of faces did you change?  What factors made it difficult to move?
3.    Read Ch 3.1  answer the Section 1 Assessment #1-6.
4.    Read Excerp from “Dear America”
5.    Stand Up/Sit Down Quiz

Tuesday:
Bellwork:  Answer the read to learn p. 70 and Complete the Reading Strategy p. 70
Assignment:  
1.    Grade Assessment p. 73
2.    Review the Geography and History p. 74-75.  Answer the two learning from geography questions.
3.    Read Chapter 3.2 Complete the Reading Strategy p.76.  Answer the assessment p. 80 #1-6.
4.    Ch 3.1-3.2 Quiz

Wednesday:  
Bellwork:  Copy the read to learn p. 76
1.    Explain why the Pilgrims and the Puritans came to America.
2.    Describe how the Connecticut, Rhode Island, and the New Hampshire colonies began.
Assignment:  
1.    Grade the Reading Strategy and assessment from Tuesday.
2.    Read from Eyewitness and Others p. 16-25.  Answer the questions p. 17, 25.
3.    In your double entry journal, write a quote from each reading and your response.

Thursday
Bellwork:  answer the Read to Learn p. 76
Assignment:
1.    Read Ch 3.3 complete the Reading Strategy p. 82, questions p. 85 #1-6.

Friday:
Bellwork:Copy the Read to learn p. 86
Assignment:  
1.  Read Ch 3.4.  Complete the Reading Strateg p. 86, questions 93 #1-6.
2.  In groups, make display of either New England, Middle or Southern Colonies.  Displays must include Reasons founded, Founders, Products and States, along with
