Week of June 8-12
Language Arts 6
Monday-Begin work on Drama reading with a mini-lesson on Narrative Elements. We will begin reading "Damon and Pythias." Tuesday we will be finishing the drama "Damon and Pythias" and working on the comprehension check and thinking critically questions (#2-4) on p. 330 in the textbook for homework. The answers ae due on Wednesday. Wednesday-Friday we will be doing Expressive Writing-Lessons 46-48. There is no homework for the Expressive Writing.
Math
We are working on our math modules. There will be warm-ups for skills review. We are also working on bonus work in multiplication, division and fractions/mixed numbers. They will have homework each day. Homework is meant to be a review of previous skills, so that we can keep familiar with them. Math fact drill at home would be great.
Language Arts 7
Monday-Friday Skills Application Lesson 119-123. There will be work in the workbook that they must finish for homework if they do not finish in class. Homework also includes the Daily Language Review sheets. Next week we will be finishing work on how to use research and write a report in our own words, as well as give the writer credit through a bibliography. The students need to keep the work they have started.
Reesource Lab
In Lab this week, we are working on typing skills, following directions, symbol discrimination/sequencing-visual tracking and deductive reasoning and study groups for final exams. Part of class time is spent on study skills and part is for study groups or homework. Do not anticipate that they can do most of their homework in the Lab. ALL students are required to have their assignment binders every day. If they lose it, they need to purchase a new one at the school office.
ALL CLASSES
Homework is always due the next day unless it specifically says different. If you want to know how or what your child is doing in school each day, please check their assignment binder. You can also check schoolnotes.com and powerschool. Your child is responsible for writing assignments in their binder.
PLEASE MAKE SURE that if your child has EYEGLASSES that they wear them to school.
