Suggested Supplies for School Use:
• A College Rule Spiral Notebook (You will need one per quarter to keep your work organized)
• Blue or Red ink pens
• #2 Pencil or Mechanical Pencils (Bring 2 to class just in case one breaks or you run out of lead)
• Highlighter
ClassExpectations:
• Come to class on time and prepared with appropriate materials
• Do all work in pencil unless otherwise instructed.
• Listen while others are speaking, and do not talk when someone else is speaking.
• Work only on tasks associated with Algebra class.
• Make sure to write your name, date, and period on all assignments. NO NAME- NO CREDIT!
• All assignments must be legible. IF I CANNOT READ IT, YOU GET NO CREDIT.
• ALL ASSIGNMENTS AND ASSESSMENTS MUST SHOW YOUR WORK. Just writing the answer is not acceptable. I want you to show me the steps you took to get the answer. If you do not show your work, you get NO CREDIT.
• Treat everyone with dignity and respect.
Classroom Rules:
1. No throwing/tossing any items in class.
2. Hands and feet to yourself.
3. Respect everyone and their property.
4. NO EATING OR DRINKING IN CLASS (Bottled water is only exception).
Tardy Policy:
• You are tardy if you are not in your seat by the time the tardy bell rings or it is time for class to start.
• If you forget something in another class or you forget your Friday Progress report from the office, you are considered tardy.
• Each tardy after 2 tardies will receive a detention.
• You will receive an “N” in citizenship if you receive 5-7 tardies.
• You will receive a “U” in citizenship if you receive 8 or more tardies.
Late Policy:
I WILL NOT ACCEPT LATE WORK (NO EXCEPTIONS). There are a number of ways you can remind yourself of what your assignment is. Homework and other class assignments are posted on the board and the class calendar on a daily basis. You can also find it on www.schoolnotes.com. You should also be using your Agenda to write down assignments daily. The agenda is a great tool to help you stay organized.
The only time I will take late work is if you are absent the day before. However, if there was an assignment due the day you were absent, you need to turn that in when you give me your re-admit to sign.
Restroom Policy
You will receive a Hall Pass per quarter that will allow you to go to the restroom. Each pass will contain 5 passes. At the end of each quarter, you will receive 1 extra credit point towards participation grade for every unused pass.
Absences
If you are absent IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make-up and do the work within the same number of days you were absent. This means if you were absent one day, you have one day to make-up the assignment(s). Tests must be made-up within the first week of the day you were absent on your own free time (During lunch or after school).
Notebook
I suggest using a college rule spiral notebook, to keep your warm-ups and notes organized in one location for easy access and review. Notebooks will be collected and graded on the day of each test. I will be looking for completed warm-ups and notes, with dates and warm-up number. You will be held responsible for the loss or misplacement of your notebook, which means you will need to re-create the work if you lose it.

Policy on Academic Dishonesty
It is assumed that a student is the author of all course work (quizzes, tests, papers, research work notes, etc.), which he/she admits, whether for a grade or not. Any ideas, data, or phrases borrowed from others should be fully identified in writing by standard procedures for making such acknowledgement.
Any student who submits someone else’s work as his/her own, or knowingly aids another student to do so, may be subject to a failing grade on the assignment in question.
Plagiarism is the failure to frankly and completely identify and acknowledge the use of other people’s published-and occasionally unpublished-material. Plagiarism ranges from the outright word-for-word copying to the carefully patched together “mosaic”, to the paraphrase, an abbreviated restatement of someone else’s analysis or conclusion. All are equally dishonest. Note that aiding another student to plagiarize will be treated as an act of academic dishonesty.
If a student plagiarizes on any assignment,or is caught cheating, he/she will receive a “0” on the assignment and a “U” in citizenship.
