1. Print the STAR released test questions for math from the following website: www.cde.ca.gove/ta/tg/sr/oss05rtq.asp answer each question and bring the whole packet to class for extra credit.
2. Practice for the CST testing using the Standards Review Workbook and complete learning about each of the 6th grade standards. Take the test in the book for practice as well. Remember I have the key in class, so you can always check how you have done on each section.
3. Organize your table of contents for the chapter you are on now.
Periods 4 and 5 -- Science
1. Read ch. 7, sec. 6, pp. 282-288.
2. Answer the "Reading Checkpoint" questions, define the key terms giving examples, answer the key questions, answer the assessment questions on p. 288, and complete your Cornell Notes responding to the questions given to you in class.
3. We will do the Reading and Notetaking guide worksheets and Resource pages.
4. If any one of you want to design and build an anemometer to measure the wind as described on p. 289 for extra credit, be my guest. It would be an exciting experiment to share when you return from spring break.

1. Work on the Number Sense section of the Standards Review Work Book. Always begin by reading the standard and objective/s of each lesson; highlight or underline if you need to. Then, look at the examples carefully and solve each problem in a notebook before selecting an answer. Try to avoid guessing before attempting to solve it. The goal is for you to understand what each 6th grade standard is about and be able to solve the problems. Each lesson is beautifully presented, and you can either use it to work independently or with an adult/tutor. Go ahead meet the challenge.
