Welcome to a new year at Audubon K-8 School. My name is Mrs. Leisse and I will be your Media Prep Time Teacher.
During the first weeks of school, I will be teaching the basic layout of the library. This is to ensure that all of our students will be able to find the books that they are looking for efficiently and effectively. I will review where the picture books and chapter are located and how they are arranged. In addition, I will review the Dewey Decimal System and how to find our non-fiction books. I will also go over the online library catalog so that everyone can find the books that they are looking for.
As we get into the first trimester, I will be collaborating with various teachers to design project based lessons that are aligned with the curriculum that is being taught in the classroom. The teachers, the students, and myself, will be using the online databases to search for the information that will be needed for the projects.
