Dear Room 8 Families,
What a WONDERFUL group of students we have in Room 8. Please welcome Jeremiah, Amanda, and Christopher to Room 8. We now have 20 students. I also would like to give a big thanks to Andrea (Dylan’s mom) for coming in and breaking down the frame from our Little House and painting one of the bookshelves.
We appreciate your support. We would also like to thank all the parent volunteers who have helped on the yard and volunteered in the classroom.
We will be giving the Little House a makeover over the next few weeks. A big THANKS to the Lum Family for their donation of a new kitchen.
This week for Literacy and Social Studies, the students read the story “The Gingerbread Man” and made gingerbread men with clay. We also made giant murals of the United States. We learned about the surrounding bodies of water.
This week for Math and Science, we explored balance scales, dice, rainbow tiles, and puzzles. We also learned about the 5 Senses. We focused on the sense of touch and what we use our hands for.
The students in Room 8 attend Motor Perception each Wednesday. Please help your child by sending them with easy shoes to take on and off. Please also send them with gym clothes for the day as well. Stockings and skirts are NOT recommended. Wednesdays are also GARDEN DAYS. The kids tend to get a little dirty on Wednesdays.
Tennessee will take home Gazoontite on Monday.
Amanda will be Student of the Week-Please bring in a photos to share on Monday and show and tell items next Friday.
Please make sure you child brings their RED Book Bag back to Room 8 each day along with their folder for important papers.
