Congratulations to the class of 2009

I want to thank all the students for your work and I hope you had fun.

I want to thank all the parents who helped on field trips this past year. It means a lot to the children and myself.

The results from the San Francisco Bay Area Science Fair are:
8th Grade

1st Olivia Butler-Does the Color of Light affect a Plants Growth?

3rd  Rosette Rumberger and Lynnea Jawad-Which brand of popcorn leaves the least amount of unpopped kernals?

8th Grade

1st  Travis Opperud-A wing and a prayer

2nd  Michael Plaisance-Does a higher Acidity level produce more Voltage?

3rd  kenneth Swain-Does the Acidity or Alkalinity of water affect how well a plant will grow and thrive?

4th Jenny Coyne and Fiona Kanady- Does the shape of an ice cube affect how fast it melts?

5th  Rachel Falkner-Does the color of light affect plant growth?

6th.  Jordan Butler-Do energy drinks make plants grow faster?

The schedule for K-5 in the lab is the following:
4th grade, Monday
2nd grade, Tuesday
K/1 will alternate ever other wed
5th grade Thur
3rd grade Friday
Thus far in the lower grades we have
Prepared the garden for planting
Planted Marigolds
Made slime
Watched  and documentedreal butterflies go from larva to full maturity and set them free in the garden.
Examined organisms on apple tissue.
Made UV bracelets and had the sun turn them different colors showing why we should wear sunscreen.
