Greetings SPN families,
Halloween was a wonderful time for all- the children had such fun (and so did the adults)- the costumes included everything: creative, clever, ghouls and scary, frogs and princesses, bees and fairies, and monsters of every sort, as well as "Soggy Bottom Boys Band", "Dodgeball Team", and even a Rubic's cube. One might ask what happened with "school" on Friday, and I would respond that this is part of our mission in educating the whole child. It is through celebrations of culture, faith and tradition that we grow as a community. Well done!
Thanks to our Student Leadership Council who planned and created a carnival as well as a haunted house for their fellow students to enjoy. Thanks to our teacher's who created costumes to depict their favorite literary characters in order to support the "Kick-off" of our Book Fair. Thank you to the parents who baked, sewed, created, chaperoned, contributed candy and cheered for the parade of costumed children and adults. This is how we create community.
Today we celebrated All Soul's Mass. This was an opportunity to remember all those loved ones who are no longer with us. It is a time to reflect on the gift that their life is to us, the living. We also took our panoramic picture commemorating 50 years of education at St Philip Neri School. It is fitting, on All Soul's Day, to remember all those who have contributed to the success of our school community over the past 50 years. We who are continuing their work have so much to be grateful for.
The anthropologist Margaret Mead said, “The solution to adult problems tomorrow depends on large measure upon how our children grow up today.” Thanks to all of you for your commitment to how our children grow up today!
Peace and blessings,
