The Little Red Hen is our focus this week as we read many different versions of this classic tale. Students will dramatize the story in class and hopefully retell the story to you at home.
This week a new sight word is being introduced: a. Most students are doing a wonderful job learning our sight words: I, like, see, my, a, but some students DO NOT know them and need continued practice at home. Please make flashcards with your child and review these words briefly every day, especially if your child seems to struggle remembering them.
The Holiday Magic fundraiser items have arrived. If your child has a small package of items s/he will bring them home. If your order was large, you can pick it up Wed., Thurs. or Friday in the MUR after school. Thank you!
Super Star
Brian Ward is our special student of the week. He enjoys making books at school, riding bikes with his neighbors and watching Scooby Doo on TV. Brian’s favorite color is blue and some of his favorite foods include chicken, corn on the cob and pizza. Yum!
No school next week for Thanksgiving break. School will resume on Monday, November 31st.
Enclosed this week you will find a parent-teacher conference note. Please indicate if you CAN or CANNOT attend at your scheduled time. If you are unable to attend at the time assigned, please list a couple of alternative dates/times and I will try my best to accommodate you.
IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR LUNCH FRIENDS
Due to parent-conferences, LUNCH FRIENDS’ schedule will change from Dec. 7-18th and they will begin class at 9:05am and be dismissed at 1:05pm. Please mark this on your calendar!!
Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving! Lorna Withington
