NEED AN EXTRA COPY FOR AN ASSIGNMENT?
******************************************************
MEMORARE - May 8 for 7th, May 23 for 8th
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

SERENITY PRAYER - May 21 for 7th, May 29 for 8th

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen.

GENERAL POLICIES FOR MS. QUINLAN 2007-2008

CLASSROOM RULES – The following are the classroom rules which are posted.
1. Listen carefully
2. Follow directions
3. Work quietly, do not disturb others who are working
4. Respect others, be kind with your words and actions
5. Respect school and personal property
6. Work and play safely

BEHAVIOR POLICY – The ultimate goal in the classroom is to create an environment which is stimulating and safe for every student.  This includes assisting students in making appropriate behavioral choices.  The desired classroom rules are posted so that students may know what is expected of them.  If a student fails to remember the posted rules then the following will occur:

1.First verbal warning will result in the loss of 10 minutes of recess.

2.Second verbal warning will warrant a conduct referral.

3.After the third verbal warning the student will be invited to see the principal about their behavior.
All verbal warnings will be tracked in a binder with the reason, date, and time for the warning.  Students receive a fresh start at the beginning of each day.

Students also have the opportunity to earn tickets in a separate positive reinforcement system to keep them on task and ready to work.  Tickets can be earned for following the rules, modeling a Christian attitude, and being prepared for class.

HOMEWORK POLICY – All homework should be done in a timely and neatly fashion.  Unless otherwise noted by the teacher all homework is due the next day.  Students who fail to turn in their work will receive a zero (O) in the grade book.  Their name and assignment will be turned into the homework detention teacher the following day and the student WILL complete the assignment.  The student may earn up to 80% credit for the late work.  A phone call will be made to the parent if the student has missed more than two assignments in a week.

Students receive one (1) free homework pass each quarter.  This pass can be used for a nightly homework assignment.  It may not take the place of a long term assignment, i.e. – report, math packet, Religion paper.  Parents need to check the homework planner each night and schoolnotes.com to make sure that the two correlate.

TEST POLICY – All tests given by Ms. Quinlan will be marked correct or incorrect and will be returned once every student has completed the test. Students will have the opportunity to correct any incorrect answer and earn half credit back for that particular problem.  Students have till the end of the week to correct their test in order for the higher grade to be entered in the grade book.  Once the new week begins students may not turn in their test for higher credit.  It is the students’ responsibility to correct their work.

Example – Annie earns 24/30 on her Religion test.  Annie reviews the materials and corrects the 6 missed problems.  Annie submits her test back to Ms. Quinlan and earns 3 points, which are added to her grade.  Annie’s new score is 27/30.

GRADING POLICY – The following grading policy is for either Religion or math.
