Assalaamu Aliekum, welcome to the new academic year. My name is Haneen Darwish; I have a bachelor’s degree in Arabic language and a minor in sociology from The University of Jordan. This is my 7th year teaching Arabic as a second language and this is my fourth year teaching Arabic in Granada Islamic School.
Goals and Objectives:
I am looking forward Insha’ Allah for a fruitful year, that will require the cooperation of both of us. I am committed to teach and fulfill the academic needs of my students using the best teaching techniques and learning skills. As a parent you need to make sure that your children do their homework and be prepared for their exams. This year I will be teaching the Advanced level for grades 4, 6, and 8, also I will be teaching the intermediate level for the 7th grade, and the beginner level for the 5th grade. My goal is to establish an environment that will help the students discover their potential and prepare them face the future with confidence.

Curriculum:
• The text book is أحب العربية (كتاب التلميذ)
• The work book is أحب العربية (كتاب التدريبات)
• The Grammar books are only for grade 4, 6, and 8 the advanced level القواعد المشوّقة للطلاب
Homework Policy:
Please refer to the school notes website at www.schoolnotes.com for Homework assignments weekly, homework should be turned the following class for each subject (book). If the homework is turned on time, a full credit will be given, otherwise, no credit will be given unless the student has a valid excuse (neatness counts).
The grading policy is as follows:
For upper grades 6th to 8th
The following are the components of assessment per trimester followed by the assigned percentage:
• Homework 20%
• Class work 10%
• Written tests and quizzes 30%
• Oral tests 15%
• Projects 10%
• Final Exam 15%
For 4th & 5th grade
• Written Tests 30%
• Oral Tests 20%
• Homework 20%
• CW, Participation and Project 30%
