My name is Lina Hamoudeh and I am the director for the Pre-K class. I have been working 13 years in Granada Islamic School in the Pre-k room and 3 years in the Kindergarten. I will be teaching Arabic, Islamic Studies and Quran. Sister Haleh will be teaching Language Arts and Math and this is her second year at Granada. She has had two years experience working with children outside Granada. We are both delighted to be working with your children and are looking forward to a fun filled and educational year.
Drop-Off and pick-up:
- Students are not allowed on school grounds before 7:45 a.m.
- Parents must drop off Pre-K students in the classroom
- Parents must sign in and sign out their children everyday
- Half-Day Students are dismissed at 12:00 noon.
- Full-Day students are dismissed at 3:15 p.m. and there is no extended care provided after hours.
Dress Code:
- There is no uniform required - comfortable clothing and Velcro shoes are preferred.
Nap Time:
- Pre-K full day students take a one-hour nap daily.
- We need a small sheet and blanket (crib size only)
- We will not accept big blankets or sleeping bags.
- A change of clothes is needed in a zip lock bag labeled with your child's name on it.
Healthy Lunch:
- We do not provide any food. Every child must bring healthy food in a lunch box such as: sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, yogurt, etc.
- No junk food allowed.
Homework:
- Homework will be passed out on Friday and should be returned by the following Friday.
- The homework is a review of what we are doing in class that week. It will be something easy and enjoyable for the children that they can do at home with the help of the parents.
Sharing Day:
- Every Friday we will have sharing day. Students can bring a toy, snacks, etc., to share with the class.

Pre-k class wishlist:
-art supplies(WASHABLE paints, markers, crayons, dot paint, color pencils, colored papers, etc.)
-printer (color printer is preffered)
-fish food
-paper products
-rubber balls (to play with during recess)
-any donations appropiate for classroom accepted
