SUPPLIES FOR 2009-2010
Please make sure you have all supplies everyday.

- composition notebook
- highlighters (yellow, blue, pink)
- binder
- sticky notes
Students in English 10 and 11 AP Language & Composition need to be reading a book outside of the classroom reading assignments. It is requested that students have books EVERY DAY.

Next vocabulary quiz is February 12. Words are: indubitably, archetype, corroborate . . .
Next spelling test February 26. Words are generated from student papers. Students have a running "Personal Spelling" list.
We are beginning to read Things Fall Apart and looking at how other cultures can influence one another - positively or negatively.
JUNIOR AP LANG/COMPOSITION:
We are currently discussing argument and fallacy. Students will be crafting a speech that is meant to "inspire people to positive change". They will incorporate what they are learning about argument and developing their speech with solid research.
The next vocabulary quiz is Friday,February 5. words are: assonance, euphemism, bivouac, metonymy, synechdoche, erroneous, fallacy, trepidation, ignoramus.
Hand outs and rubrics for these assignments can be found in my "in box" on the school site.
CREATIVE WRITING
Students need to bring their composition notebooks everyday. We are reading Stephen King's book On Writing Syllabi for each individual class is posted on the school website under my name and bio.
